DC METRO ASCM NEWS APRIL 2025
President's Report

Thanks for taking time to read the latest news from the DC Metro ASCM Chapter!
Greetings!
Welcome to another issue of the DC Metro / Cumberland Valley APICS Newsletter. This publication aims to keep you informed of current and recent events, educational information, and updates.
The days are getting longer, and the weather is warming up—which is predictable for this time of year. However, what is becoming less predictable are the impacts of innovative technologies such as A.I., with the intriguing range of A.I. products being introduced. Additionally, market dynamics, such as the tariffs being implemented and the reactions to those tariffs. Furthermore, many government agencies are changing, due to budget reductions and downsizing. For better or worse, some of the solid guideposts we once relied on are being uprooted. This stresses the importance of being flexible, assessing situations quickly, and reacting appropriately and promptly.
In terms of Professional Development Meetings (PDMs) we have the following on the schedule:
· On Thursday, April 17th at 6:00 pm we have a dinner meeting at Morgan’s Grill in New Market, MD. The speaker’s topic is “The Strategic Role of Logistics Data in the Digital Supply Chain.”
· On Monday, May 5th at 12:00 noon, we will host a webinar titled “Leadership Techniques A.I. Webinar,” which will explore real-world case studies demonstrating practical applications of AI.
